Folks,
Its good to see this thread is still active. I just came home after 30 hrs non-stop work due to our product launch. I did go through quickly on all the posts after my post and I really didnt get the point I was looking for. I will respond to each of you tomorrow in one post.
The response I see for any type of campaign in the form of contributions is pathetic, based on the number of people waiting and those who are active. We will go nowhere, but this must change, and we will help.
I will now have to sleep for 5 hrs and then go back.

I just visited last month. I stayed there for 6 weeks...
Agree that economy is booking but....
(1) too much pollution.
(2) No infrastructure to handle cars and two wheeleers.
(3) too much mosquito even in winter/summer. I do not know what will happen in rainy days.
(4) prices for every item have gone up by 3X..Most of the item I am not able to justify the rise. The quality of the product has not gone up.
(5) easy to set up business..get house...get car but tough to drive peacefully...need to pray god every morning so that we come back home with 2 hands and 2 legs and unbroken body parts.
(6) Club culture is booming too...so if you have daughter who is teen then need to check by that angle too.
Just my two cents....

I agree there are many issues we have back home but after all it is our country -:)
there is something that pulls me back to and we are also thinking we will go back in the next couple of years. It will not be easy as we love this country too...but then one of the main reasons we are going back is the way is the culture here... I am not very comfortable with the culture here and would like my kids to have the Indian culture...I agree there is a lot of westernization back home too...but I guess there is some hope there still to have a little control on the kids...or help them go the right way...here I am not saying it is wrong...but is a totally different culture....which is what I am not able to digest....
Also, we are alone here no family or extended family and that too is not easy (I think)

I respect this country a lot and love this country (and my country too -:) ...I am what I am today because of India and US.
If we end up going (I am sure at some point we will), we will always be greatful to America !!!

Rather than immigration reform. They should clean up USCIS & DOS. get more efficient people in there. Now that the economy is so bad they should be able to get a lot of good people.

Plus, unless there is searing pain all around there is no need for legislation. So dates rollback maybe a positive sign - a build up for CIR. But who am I kidding?

looks like USCIS are giving us least priority.They may be thinking we are suppose to file a law suit when Visa are unavailable during July3 to July 16.
Dont know where they put our application?do we get any rfe or rejection?

it is very frustrating that most of the guys whi have filed between July 2nd -July 16 have been waiting either close to 90 or more than 90 days, just for the sake of the DAMN receipt notices.
I have been very patiently waiting for the past 84 days (as i filed mine on July16th) and I see that even folks who filed just during the Aug 10th period are also getting their notices and getting their FP done.
DAMN with USCIS sorting order, as those morons could not even implement a FIFO manner, if they had followed, we would have had our receipts long back.
Once again, HELL with these stupid receipting process.
Hope atleast some of you can understand the pain in the whole friggin process.

Please dont mix priority date with quota.
spouse's priority date will be the same as primary priority date.
We are discussing about quota here.
Lets say I have PD of Aug 2007 and If govt makes me to file under EB and my wife under FB. When date becomes current in EB ( which has higer probability ) I will be able to file but my wife will not.
Now questions will be what will be her status ? If I switch to EAD ? second if govt give them a legal status but they have to wait for 3-4 years to date become current and file for 485.

Thanks dingudi. If you know of a solid case where someone was RFE'd because of landing while on 485, then it looks like I might seriously consider abandoning it as well.
One last question: Let's hypothetically say that I do decide to land and somehow manage to get back into the US without any issues using my AP. However, every subsequent time I leave the U.S. and return, I run the risk of getting "caught" at the POE with regards to the 485/Canadian residency conflict. Am I correct in this assessment?

My wife and i got emails from USCIS and we checked our status online and it is now CPO. The approval is based on my wife's applicatiion ( EB2 India, Dec 2005). I had two applications one as her dependent and another my own that is EB3 I, Jan 2004.

I have a electronic mail from them with the 140 receipt Notice (as PDF)
from USCIS.. I took the LIN number from there and Queries USCIS - they says USCIS received my App on May 15th and under processing....
I took a Print out of that 140 receipt Notice and will attach with 485 Application... My approval will not come before Jan-Feb 2008.
But don't you need copy of 140 also?
Canda is not the only option.You can tell them that u r resigning.In that case u might not win but atleast he will loose everything.So might be he will ready.

With out IV, The only two things folks on the hill knew were illegal immigration and H1B visa. Now more than 75% offices know the EB issue inside out and have a position on it. This is an effort that needs to be continued until we get a solution.
This in itself is a stupendous achievement and IV has made it possible. 2 or 3 years back you had NO VOICE. Now you have IV. Thats enough reason contribute and feel involved in the community effort.

All 140K GCs are available on Oct 1. However, dates were not current in 2005 and 2006. I think that current dates do not depend on available GCs.
Looks like current dates depend on # submitted AOS's. USCIS is saying that on Jul 2 it has submitted AOS's that exhaust submitted AOS quota.

My friends check encashed today from TSC. His Attorney send application (6/20) to NSC and received there on 6/21.
So long way to go... I am not sure next weekend estimate will also hold good for July 2nd filer. :) Don't kill yourself and it will not make it faster.:D :D :D
Most of the applications are going to NSC but TSC is the one which is slow. I do not understand the reason. It seems their boss (Mr. Gonzales) sits in NSC, so they do not do any work. Does any one have any idea why TSC is so slow.
If it goes like this, it will take a century to get EAD and AP itself.
Just venting out my frustration...:mad:

I am not sure, When I was coming from India I had person with L1 visa came to US without any problem.
Extensions is currently the problem.
